Using numberlines in primary mathematics

This website has videos that have been created by Mrs. Williams showing how a number line can be used for a variety of mathematical concepts.

WRITTEN METHODS FOR ADDITION, SUBTRACTION, MULTIPLICATION AND DIVISION

The following clips demonstrate how written methods in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are taught in years 3 to 6 at South Cave Primary School. They follow the New Curriculum for Mathematics (2014).

Each clip is a few minutes long and shows how the written methods are developed within each year group.

We hope you find them useful in supporting your child's maths learning.

KIRFs (Key Instant Recall Facts)

To help develop children’s fluency in mathematics, we ask them to learn Key Instant Recall Facts each half term.  We expect children to practise their KIRFs whenever possible.

These lists of KIRFs have been created to align with the new curriculum.  They are intended to be challenging and it is intended that children will be taught the necessary maths in lessons beforehand.
